So I have had some minor knowledge of this whole thing about a new protocol for sharing stuff on the web in a decentralised way for a little while. I immediately left twitter once that nazi took over and initially had a go with mastodon but then switched over to bluesky back when it was blowing up last year. I got quite involved in posting there for a while to express my utter horror in what has been going on in politics, but I soon got quite exhausted with the utter shitshow and ended up becoming more of a lurker dropping in for little bursts.
I am now thinking that I want to broaden out my use of it and start posting more interesting stuff with a broader range and keep the political stuff to a minimum. I then started to discover all the various other services that have been built out on top of this At Protocol thing. Not entirely sure whether I understand and am particularly bothered about the difference between these new things and the older services that I have used - last.fm, raindrop, flickr, etc. But it's always fun to give new things a try.
So I have started by creating a kind of personal landing page on blento and then have started setting up on popfeed, grain, margin, and obviously here on leaflet. I am liking how I can get everything amalgamating into one place on blento without too much bother. Although stuff from margin does not seem to be coming over yet.
It will be interesting to see whether this becomes something that I sustain in using. I quite like to have a place to like here to just do some mind dumps now and again, pretty much solely for my own purposes. I cannot imagine that there will be anyone having the slightest interest.
